  • COVID-19 Update: ED Opens CARES Act-Funded Reimagine Workforce Preparation Competition The U.S. Department of Education's (ED) Education Stabilization Fund – Reimagine Workforce Preparation (ESF-RWP) Discretionary Grant Program is now available. Funded through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, ESF-RWP is authorized to provide up to $127.5 million for economic and workforce development initiatives to help alleviate the impact of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

  • COVID-19 Update: NEH Awards $40 Million in CARES Act Funds-The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) announced the award of $40.3 million spread across 317 new grants, a portion of the $75 million the agency received from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

  • Appalachian State University funded eight multidisciplinary regionally-responsive research projects on COVID-19 in an effort to generate information and knowledge helpful to our community. All funds for this program have now been exhausted. Please be on the lookout for a story about these research projects from University Communication in the near future. Thank you for all the interest in the program!

 

  • Free AI-based COVID-19 research tool now available: Streamlyne, is the maker of Streamlyne Research eRA cloud-based software, created a completely free artificial intelligence (AI) tool for researchers. Streamlyne’s intelligent natural language processing tool enables researchers to locate articles on SARS-CoV-2 and related viruses quickly and efficiently within the COVID-19 Open Research Dataset (CORD-19) created by the Allen Institute for AI, in partnership with several tech companies and the OSTP.  The dataset is linked to the World Health Organization (WHO) database of publications on coronavirus disease and other resources.  The website also provides a sample list of some of the most promising COVID-19 research efforts at universities and independent research institutions.
