Appalachian State University is supporting multidisciplinary regionally-responsive research on COVID-19 in an effort to generate information and knowledge helpful to our community. A total of $50,000 has been made available for this effort. Proposals can ask for up to $7500 and will be accepted on a rolling basis until funds are exhausted.
Research areas include, but are not limited to:
Modeling incorporating geographic, environmental, socioeconomic variability in the region
Health disparities, vulnerability, and resilience
Behavioral and community response, communication
Pathogen/environment relations, disease spread, surveillance
Economic impact on the region
Eligibility: Multidisciplinary clusters should include personnel from Appalachian in at least three different disciplines and each cluster should identify one or more research question(s) to focus on. Tenured and tenure-track faculty members, full-time instructor-rank faculty members, and EHRA administrative staff are eligible to submit proposals.
Application Timeline: All proposals will be reviewed on a rolling basis starting May 18th. Decisions for funding will be communicated within one week of submission.
