In helping to provide a replacement for the soon-to-be unavailable NC DOCKS, an Institutional Repository (IR) Task force is reviewing options related to Alma, our forthcoming Delivery Service package, as well as looking at more robust alternatives, which we’ve narrowed down to two cloud-hosted options: Ubiquity and Figshare, with demos scheduled in the near future.

Ubiquity
Ubiquity offers a next-generation repository that is cloud-hosted and open-source. This demo covers how to easily upload, display, and make faculty and student research accessible.

Figshare is a cloud-based repository platform that enables storing and managing files of every type, from any discipline, in a discoverable and usable way.
This demo will provide an overview of the platform with examples of how researchers and those who support them can increase the visibility of their work and begin to track impact.
