NEH Summer Stipends Limited Submission Competition

In September, the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) will be accepting applications for its Summer Stipends program. Faculty members teaching full-time must be nominated by Appalachian State University in order to apply for a Summer Stipend; each eligible institution is limited to two nominations.

The Summer Stipends program supports individuals pursuing advanced research that is of value to humanities scholars, general audiences, or both. Recipients usually produce articles, monographs, books, digital materials, archaeological site reports, translations, editions, or other scholarly resources. Summer Stipends support full-time continuous work on a humanities project for a period of two months. Summer Stipends support projects at any stage of development. The grant award is for $6000.

Because of the restricted number of submissions allowed, Appalachian State University conducts an internal competition to select the two nominees. Faculty members interested in applying for a Summer Stipend should review the guidelines and submit their complete application materials via InfoReadyno later than 12 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2022. Nominations from department chairs and deans are not required for this internal competition.
