Tuesday, November 7 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Wondering how to get started with your IACUC protocol and what requirements need to be met for your protocol to be approved? Shante’ Mathes, Director of Research Protections and IACUC Administrator, will lead a 1 hour workshop featuring components such as an overview of the Research Protections IACUC website and where to find pertinent information, training and health form requirements, and how to submit a new protocol or amendment in Cayuse. This workshop will provide information for those that are new to the IACUC protocol submission process and refresher information for those with established IACUC protocols.

Virtual
Tuesday, November 7 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Wednesday, November 8 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Some statistical tests, like t-tests and ANOVAs, are essential for comparing two or more groups on a variable of interest. However, many research questions focus instead on how specific variables relate to each other. A simple correlational analysis will describe the degree to which two variables move in relation to one another. Going further, regression analyses can be used to model the relationship between two or more variables and make predictions about a variable of interest. The power of these tests is evident in their widespread use in research and industry, but with great power comes great responsibility! Join us as we review these relational tests to get a better grasp on the statistical foundation and application of each.

Virtual
Wednesday, November 8 from 9 to 10 a.m.
In this workshop, users will be navigated through a 30,000-foot overview of Cayuse, the University's new official repository for all sponsored projects. Key features to be reviewed will include the SP Proposal module, Projects vs. Proposals, Approvals & Tasks, Status Categories, Roles for Viewers/Approvers, and how to conduct various searches.

Virtual
Thursday, November 16 from 3 to 4 p.m.
Wednesday, November 29 from 10 to 11 a.m.
Want to go through a step-by-step instructional guide on how to create and submit a proposal for internal approval in Cayuse? This workshop will equip the user with increased knowledge of becoming familiar with the Cayuse platform by creating a proposal from scratch and identifying the various modules within the proposal record that need to be completed in order to route for approval review.

Thursday, December 7 from 11 to 11:30 a.m.
This hands-on, 30-minute workshop will show faculty and staff users of the Pivot funding database how to claim or create their profile. Profiles allow Pivot users to be discoverable to potential research collaborators at Appalachian State and other institutions.
