REMINDER: Harkrader Family Foundation Research Awards due Dec 13th

This is a reminder of the December 13th deadline for applications for the Harkrader Family Foundation Research Awards

Description: Harkrader Family Foundation Faculty Research Awards are meant to enhance the research enterprise on Appalachian University campus by involving graduate students in the research. These awards are being sponsored by the Cratis D. Williams School of Graduate Studies.  Applicants should address how their project will achieve this by using these funds as a way to enable graduate students to be an integral part of a research project and involved in the design and/or execution of the project. Projects should start after February 1 and be able to be completed by October 7, 2022.

Proposals will be evaluated based on scholarly merit, appropriate planning/timeline, budget, advancing scholarly activity at Appalachian, and meaningful graduate student involvement.

Awards: Up to 6 awards will be given at $2000 each

Eligibility: Tenured and tenure-track faculty members and full-time instructor-rank faculty members who supervise graduate students are eligible to submit proposals. Applicants may be listed on only one proposal under review.

This award will fund: Research supplies, equipment, or services (e.g. data sets), compensation for subjects, allowable travel for purposes of gathering data, consulting archives and collections, assessment for programming, or collaborating with colleagues when necessary.

This grant will NOT fund: Faculty, staff, graduate or undergraduate student salaries, conference support, purely instructional projects, or food/drink/entertainment expenses.
