Summer Stipend for Writing a Grant Program - Summer 1 2020

In an effort to incentivize faculty preparing significant external research grant applications, the Office of Research is accepting applications for the Summer Stipend for Writing A Grant (SWAG) program for the Summer I Session for Summer 2020. This program will provide selected faculty with a $3500 stipend for the first Summer Session to spend time writing an external grant proposal.

Eligibility: Faculty members who are eligible to serve as principal investigators (PI) on externally funded grants are encouraged to apply for funding. If an applicant has received a Faculty Reassigned Time (FRT) award in the past, they must have already submitted their proposal to the sponsor, a final report to GRS, and the Summer SWAG Proposal submission must be for a new proposal or a resubmission of an already reviewed proposal.

Applicants should not have other sources of internal or external summer funding (e.g. College of Arts and Sciences Proposal Development Summer Grants, NEH Summer Stipends, etc.). Faculty who are teaching more than one course during summer session I are not eligible to apply.

Applicants are eligible for future Faculty Reassigned Time (FRT) cycles after they've submitted the grant for which they're seeking a Summer SWAG.

Application deadline: This is a pilot program. The current application deadline is Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 12PM for a Summer I stipend (Summer 2020) of $3500.
