TOMORROW 8/12: NIH Research Enhancement Award (aka R15) Review Panel: the inside scoop

Please join recent NIH review panelist Ece Karatan, Vice Provost for Research, past NIH reviewer Kelly Cole, Chair of Health & Exercise Science, and past NIH R15 awardee Gary McCullough, Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Education in BCHS, on Wednesday, August 12th from 3:00pm - 4:00pm to learn:

The NIH Research Enhancement Award (used to be called R15) includes two programs, both of which Appalachian are eligible for:

  • Academic Research Enhancement Award (AREA) for Undergraduate-Focused Institutions
  • Research Enhancement Award Program (REAP) for Health Professional Schools and Graduate Schools
The goals of these programs are to:
  • support meritorious research,
  • expose students to research, and
  • strengthen the research environment of the institution.

These programs support small-scale research projects for periods not to exceed 36 months.
