Research, fun and refreshments are front and center—and the campus community is encouraged to attend the seventh annual Research and Creative Activity at Appalachian (RECAPP) Event on Friday, Sept. 19, 3 to 6 p.m. in the Rosen Concert Hall at the Hayes School of Music on the campus of Appalachian State University.
Help celebrate the research, scholarship and creative endeavors of Appalachian State faculty and staff. The event features keynote speakers Dr. Rahman Tashakkori and Dr. Joby Bell. Noted for their commitment and innovative contributions to the university, the speakers are the recipients of the 2025 Chancellor's and Provost's Awards for Excellence in Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity.
Tashakkori is the Lowe's Distinguished Professor of Computer Science in the Department of Computer Science. Bell is the university organist and professor in the Hayes School of Music. Both have engaged tirelessly on behalf of students and App State's research and creative enterprises.
Learn about the vital, student-engaged research and creative endeavors happening on our campus, presented in a variety of formats, including oral presentations, posters, art pieces and performances.
RECAPP is hosted by the Office of Research and Innovation and supported by Hayes School of Music and University Libraries. Refreshments will be served by Grandview Catering & Events.
