Each year, a portion of the facilities & administrative (F&A) or indirect funds generated by external grants and contracts are used to support faculty research activities with grant awards of up to $5,000.
The University Research Council reviews proposals and makes funding recommendations to the Chief Research Officer. For more information, contact grs@appstate.edu.
Information for URC Grant Applicants
Applicants are asked to provide information about their internal and external funding endeavors, a 4-page proposal narrative, a budget, a 2-page CV, and have the option of up to 4 additional appendices.

Grant Application Deadlines
- For Fall review -- Noon on the third Tuesday in October, annually
- For Spring review -- Noon on the first Tuesday in March, annually thereafter (deadline will fall on the second Tuesday in March if the first Tuesday coincides with Spring Break)
Information for URC Grant Recipients
Grant recipients will be notified along with an award letter. Fall applicants will be notified between late November and early December. Spring applicants will be notified between late April and early May.
